Travels with Shirley

Wherever I travel, be it, at home or abroad, I celebrate life through the lens of my camera. I cherish the images and revel in the knowledge that although I may not come that way again, for awhile I stopped and gazed in wonder.

To travel is to gain an education in life.

Exploring different countries makes history come alive.

Embracing different cultures will provide a different point of view.

Listening to strains of music played in a foreign land will cause your heart to sing.

I have travelled to many countries, written about them, photographed them and return to them in my dreams. I truly believe people should visit other backyards, whether it is across the ocean or just next door.

Life flashes by like a comet, colours flashing and then the brilliant light dissolves into stardust touching the lives that are left behind. I use photographs to remind myself and others of treasured memories that we carry with us. Engagements, Weddings, babies and children growing up and homes that we have lived in, but most importantly, the people that have touched our lives. Each image has a story and a need to be preserved. That’s what life is…preserving precious moments so that others will see and remember.

So come with me and experience some of the travels in my life. And remember, that no matter how far I roam, there truly is…no place like home.

I hope you enjoy seeing the world through the lens of my camera by clicking on the images below.
